Julia D’Ascanio is a vocalist based in Toronto, Ontario. While her foundation is in jazz, she is incredibly versatile and at home in other genres like classical singing, musical theatre, and R&B. Julia is currently enrolled in the Jazz Voice Performance Program at the University of Toronto. She has studied with musicians including Tara Davidson, Christine Duncan, Tara Kannangara, Jacqueline Teh, Hannah Barstow, and Nicky Schrire. A recipient of the Duke Ellington Society Jazz Scholarship for 2021 to 2022, Julia has been a member of the Toronto All-Star Big Band since 2020. She’s performed at the Beaches International Jazz Festival, the Kensington Market Jazz Festival, and at venues including The Rex, The Emmet Ray, Casa Loma and The Old Mill.
